Government procurement scale increased by 23%, and healthy office standards reshaped the industry ecosystem.
With the recent implementation of the "Healthy Office Environment Construction Standard," government procurement of smart height-adjustable desks is expected to grow by 23%, driving a 28% year-on-year increase in shipments of industry-standard products. This policy dividend is driving the industry's shift from "functional competition" to "standard competition."
The policy defines three core requirements: office equipment must have sit-stand functionality and a lift height range of 65-128cm; smart models must be integrated into the company's health management system to synchronize sitting posture data; and materials must meet E0 environmental standards, with FSC-certified products being preferred. Data from the Ministry of Finance shows that the number of cities included in the procurement list for height-adjustable desks has increased from 12 in 2020 to 87, doubling the size of the B-end market in three years.
The implementation of the standard is accelerating industry restructuring. Currently, only 42% of companies can fully meet procurement requirements, leaving small and medium-sized manufacturers at risk of elimination due to a lack of testing equipment. Lechuang's government procurement-specific model has passed 32 authoritative tests and received bulk orders from 15 cities, including Beijing and Shanghai. AILINK's A8S desk, with its modular design and eco-friendly materials, has become a popular choice for financial institutions.
Policy guidance is spawning new business models. EasyHome, in partnership with tertiary hospitals, launched "Healthy Office Experience Stores," equipped with a posture assessment system. Purchasing companies receive value-added health management services, increasing store profit margins by 8-10 percentage points. "Policies are not only a procurement threshold, but also a guiding principle for industry upgrades," said the Secretary-General of the China Furniture Association.
In the long term, the improvement of the standard system will promote standardized development in the industry. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology plans to establish a comprehensive standard system covering materials, safety, and intelligent features by 2027, with a completeness level of 85%. Industry experts predict that, driven by these policies, the commercial market will exceed 7 billion yuan in 2026, accounting for 48% of the total industry size and becoming a core pillar of stable growth.
