Global supply chain regionalization layout, height adjustable table companies deepen "nearshore outsourcing"
Affected by international trade frictions and rising logistics costs, the global adjustable-height table industry supply chain is shifting from globalization to regionalization, with nearshoring becoming a strategic choice for mainstream companies. A Betzers report shows that by the first half of 2025, companies adopting regionalized supply chains saw an average 23% reduction in logistics costs and a 40% reduction in order delivery cycles.
The North American market is focusing on Mexican production capacity. Companies such as Loctek and FlexiSpot have established factories in Mexico, leveraging tariff benefits from the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) to serve the domestic North American market. The first phase of Loctek's Mexican factory commenced production in July 2025, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 units. It primarily produces high-end smart adjustable-height tables. Products travel from the factory to its Chicago warehouse in just 48 hours, 30 days less than shipping by sea from China. Mexico is expected to supply 60% of the North American market's adjustable-height tables by 2026.
The European market relies on its base in Central and Eastern Europe. Thermo Fisher Scientific expanded its production base in Hungary, investing €120 million to upgrade its automated production lines, increasing production capacity to 500,000 units per year and covering the Western and Southern European markets. Chinese companies are circumventing trade barriers by using their Polish assembly plant, exporting core components from China to Poland for local assembly and then sale to the EU, reducing tariff costs by 58%.
Southeast Asia is becoming a global manufacturing supplement. Vietnam and Malaysia, leveraging their labor cost advantages, have become major production bases for mid- and low-end height adjustable tables, with exports to Europe increasing by 76% in the first half of 2025. However, core components still rely on imports. "The localization rate of core components such as motors and intelligent control modules is only 35%, and supply chain security remains a challenge," said a production manager at a company. Industry forecasts predict that over the next three years, the global height adjustable table supply chain will form three major regional clusters: North America-Mexico, Europe-Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia-Southeast Asia.
